Facebook has recently rolled out its avatar feature.

Similar to Snapchat’s Bitmoji, the feature allows users to create a cartoon avatar of themselves which can be used in Facebook comments, stories, and on Messenger.

“With so many emotions and expressions to choose from, avatars let you react and engage more authentically with family and friends across the app,” the social networking site said.

To create an avatar, just open the Facebook app and tap the hamburger menu, which is on the lower right corner for iPhone and on the upper right corner for Android.

Scroll down and tap “See more” and select “Avatars.” Tap “Next” and then “Get started.”

Users will then be instructed to choose their facial features, skin tones, body types, and outfit.

Once users finish customizing their avatars, they can tap the check mark icon on the upper right corner to save their avatars.

To use the avatar, just tap the smiley face icon on the “Write a comment” section of Facebook’s user interface.

Facebook avatars were first introduced last year in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland.
