Philippine Swimming League (PSL) ace tanker Marc Bryan Dula won five gold medals to claim the Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) award in the 2019 Pampanga Friendship Meet held in San Fernando City, Pampanga.
The Masville National High School-Parañaque student collected 15 points to earn the top honors in the boys’ 12-year category.
Dula, a veteran of international competitions, started his bid with a gold medal in the 100m Individual Medley where he registered one minute and 9.91 seconds.
He followed it up with two more gold-medal finishes in the 50m butterfly with a time of 29.09 seconds, and 50m backstroke after submitting 31.21 seconds to close the morning session on a high note.
Dula continued his impressive showing in the afternoon session by claiming two more gold – in the 50m breaststroke event with 36.36 seconds and in the 50m freestyle by virtue of his 27.28-second clocking.
“We are exposing him to different competitions to gauge his skills. It’s totally different competing against new faces that’s why we opted to join other tournaments to further improve his time records,” said PSL President Alexandre Papa who handles the training program of Dula.
The Susan Papa Swim Academy standout is preparing for different international competitions next year in the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand.
Dula is also prepping up for the 2020 Palarong Pambansa qualifying meet in the secondary division.
He won three gold medals during his first and last stint in elementary division of Palarong Pambansa held in Davao City in May.
After that, the 12-year-old Northern Samar pride bagged gold medals in the 4th CSC Super Junior Swimming Invitational held at the Chinese Swimming Club Sports Complex in Singapore.
