CEBUANO karateka James de los Santos further solidified his grip at the E-Kata king title after adding yet another feather to his cap in the E-Karate World Series 1 for his third gold medal of the year.
De los Santos of International Shotokan Karate Federation outlasted Matias Domont Moreno of Switzerland, 25.6-24.4, to win the Shotokan E-Kata individual men’s seniors crown.
The results of the tournament were posted on Saturday, February 13, 2021.
Following an eventful 2020 where he rose as the world No.1 in E-Kata, de los Santos is far from resting his laurels this year as he aims to stay on the top of the fray.
Prior to the tournament, de los Santos already won two gold medals to start the year with a bang. He won his second gold medal in the 1st Inner Strength Martial Arts International eTournament, defeating Nejc Sternisa of Slovenia, 25.4-24.6, in the final round.
Last month, de los Santos nabbed his first gold medal of the year against Silvio Cerone-Biogioni of South Africa in the prestigious SportData eTournament World Series 1.
The 2017 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games bronze medalist de Los Santos is grateful that his students are also making waves in the online tournaments.
