ALFONSO, Cavite: Sonya’s Garden here in Barangay Buck Estate topped the provincial list of local specialty restaurants while the Maragondon River cruise ranked first in the nature category in the same day tour by the provincial government of Cavite through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO).
The two were recognized during the virtual awards ceremony on December 28.
Included in the list of awardees were Yoki’s Farm in Mendez for industrial tourism municipal level, Residence Inn in Tagaytay City for city level; Sports and Recreation and Torres Farm of Naic town for municipal level, and Promenade de Dasmariñas for city level.
Hotel Kimberly topped the list for tourists’ arrivals, overnight stay.
The top two historical and cultural sites were Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit and Corregidor Island for city level
The top local specialty at city level was Digman Halo in Bacoor City.
The top resort award went to River Front Garden in Maragondon for town level and Tubigan Garden resort in Dasmariñas for city level.
The top accommodation citation went to Royale Tagaytay in Alfonso town.
The top three local government units with the highest number of visitor same day arrivals were, in order, Tagaytay, Dasmariñas and Kawit.
The citations were in recognition of the invaluable contributions and efforts of the tourism enterprises in the province amid the pandemic.
Tourist arrivals in the province dropped dramatically this year 2020 due to the eruption of Taal Volcano and the coronavirus pandemic.
The PTCAO is in a campaign to gradually restore the vitality of the provincial tourism industry with added caution to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
