During the program, which welcomed him to the city, Pacquiao narrated his experience in going to school without enough money. He also encouraged students to pursue their education in spite of hardships and to take advantage of the free education available to them.

In a quick interview with the senator, he told The Manila Times he would allocate up to P50 million for the completion of DcomC.

Pacquiao’s visit to Legazpi is his first out-of-town sortie after winning the match with Keith Thurman at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada via a split decision last week.

While at the city, the senator also witnessed the first game of the Bicol Volcanoes against the Iloilo Royals in the second set of MPBL. Tickets for the game were sold out to an estimated crowd of 5,000 to 6,000 basketball aficionados.
