This was after Mit Javellana, mother of the sick five-year-old boy, hailed MMDA Traffic Enforcer 3 Jeremi Jorge Lukban in a Facebook post that went viral recently. It garnered around 40, 000 reactions and at least 8, 700 shares on the social media site.

No less than MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim commended Lukban, who carried the boy and took him to the nearest hospital because of the boy’s fever.

Javellana said traffic was heavy over the weekend along Alabang-Zapote when she was rushing her child to the nearest hospital. Lukban approached the vehicle driven by Javellana because he noticed they were in a hurry, she said. When he learned about the boy’s predicament, Lukban voluntarily helped the boy by carrying him to the hospital.

“When he learned that we were heading to the emergency room of the hospital, he offered to carry Earl on his back so that we could immediately bring him to the hospital,” the mother of the sick boy said in Filipino.

Lim said that he is very proud of Lukban for helping the sick boy.

“Mr. Lukban’s good deed is worthy of emulation. It is a clear manifestation of his high sense of dedication to public service. We are proud that he was able to help a mother in need,” Lim said in a statement.

MMDA said a certificate of commendation will be given to Lukban at the agency’s flag-raising ceremony on January 27. He will also be given a permanent position, as he is currently only holding a job order position in the agency.
