Mayor Marcelino Teodoro said the city government aims to implement its version of Makati City’s Health Plus Program.

“We are now coordinating with the local government of Makati City to imitate their health care system,” Teodoro said.

In Makati’s system, a health card is distributed to city residents which they could use for free outpatient consultation, subsidized hospitalization and diagnostic tests at partner health facilities.

Maintenance medicines for hypertension, diabetes and other diseases distributed to selected pharmacy outlets in the city will also be free for cardholders, Teodoro added.

Marikina’s 50,000 senior citizens also stand to benefit from the revamped health program which, the mayor said.
“The commitment of Marikina City is to provide accessible and quality health care services for all,” he said.

For the meantime, Teodoro said city residents can seek medical assistance at City Hall where the city government could provide a subsidy of up to P100,000 for hospital bills and medicines.

“The local government unit of Marikina is committed to help our residents who are incapable of paying for hospitalization and medicines,” Teodoro said.
