Rock legend Sting’s Manila concert on October 2 this year has been cancelled, Ovation Productions, one of the show’s producers, announced.
Ovation Productions broke the news on Facebook Saturday.
“We regretfully announce that Sting’s concert scheduled for October 2, 2019 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum is unfortunately canceled due to scheduling conflicts,” Ovation Productions wrote.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this development and know that Sting hopes to return to Manila soon to perform for his fans,” the producer added.
Sting’s October concert was supposedly a part of his ongoing tour “Sting: My Songs” that started May this year.
Gordon Matthew Thomas Summer, better known as Sting, rose to fame when he formed the band “The Police” along with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers.
The Police won six Grammy awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 and as a solo artist he won 12 Grammy awards.
The rock legend last performed in the Philippines in 2012.
Details of the ticket refund have yet to be announced.
