After starring in the Philippine adaptation of the South Korean film “Miracle In Cell No. 7” – a certified box-office hit at the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival – Xia Vigor has signed with Viva Artists Agency.
Xia revealed how playing Yesha in that movie has made an impact in her life.
Her mom, Christy Bernardo, revealed they were set to go back to England when the role was offered to her daughter.
Xia started her showbiz career after winning on “It’s Showtime’s” “mini-me” segment. From there, she did several commercials and her first-ever lead role on a TV series, “Langit Lupa.”
But it was not always sunshine and rainbows.
Pero sabi ko, walang stability ditto (in the Philippines).
“Tapos biglang inoffer ‘yung ‘Miracle.’ So tinanggap namin… at ‘yun, naging sobrang turning point talaga siya kasi in-offeran na si Xia ng Viva to be with them.”
The mother believes Xia is meant to be in showbiz.
When pointed out that Xia at 10, talks like she’s grown-up, Christy said perhaps the maturity comes from the hardships they experienced before.
According to the Filipino-British kid, there were times they didn’t have any food on the table. Although Xia’s father would visit them sometimes, Christy is the breadwinner.
Xia has a giving heart. In fact, she’s one of the celebrities who visited the evacuation areas in Batangas to give donations to the victims of Taal eruption.
She also revealed that part of her bonus from Viva will be donated to charity organizations. She wants to have a foundation of her own in the future.
