In an interview on DZRH’s “Showbiz Talk Ganern,” Santos-Recto said she believes Batanguenos will rise above this challenge.

“Madasalin ang mga Batangueño. Naniniwala sila na bukas ay may pag-asa, at yun ang paniniwala ng mga Batangueño. Pagsubok lang ito. Batangueños are very prayerful. Alam niyo ‘yan. Religious capital ‘yan ng ating bansa,” she said. “Kaya with all yung sipag, with all the efforts, with all the pagtutulungan, maging optimistic, kasama pa yung pagdasal, definitely, nasisiguro ko makakabangon din ang Batangas.”
