The Federation of Free Workers has welcomed the election of Joe Biden as president of the United States.
FFW president Sonny Matula said the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, a member of the International Trade Union Confederation of which they are a member of, said that “Joe Biden is a lifelong supporter of workers and has fought his entire career for living wages, health care, retirement security, and civil rights.”
AFL CIO added that their members know “Joe has done everything he could to create a fairer process for forming and joining a union, and he is ready to fight with us to restore faith in America and improve the lives of all working people.”
The General Board of the 12.5 million-strong American Labor Coalition endorsed Biden for president.
Matula said they look forward that workers’ agenda will be backed in the mainstream of US policy-making.
“In this time of COVID-19 pandemic, FFW hopes the US will adopt a new deal program like FDR (Franklin Roosevelt) did when the world and the Americans confronted a great depression in the 1930s,” Matula said.
The group thanked all those who voted for Biden.
