Three more professional leagues are set to start their seasons this week as the gradual return of local sports to normalcy continues amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 begins its five-leg President’s Cup on Wednesday, the National Basketball League holds the best-of-five finals for the President’s Cup starting Thursday and the Philippines Football League kicks off its fourth season Saturday.

All three leagues will hold their competitions under a bubble setup similar to the one currently implemented by the PBA in Pampanga.

Chooks 3×3 will have games at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna, the NBL is going to be hosted by the Bren Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga, and the PFL at the National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

Twelve teams are set to compete in the Chooks league, with Zamboanga expected to be among the favorites with a lineup led by national 3×3 team mainstays Joshua Munzon and Alvin Pasaol.

In the NBL, Pampanga and La Union square off for the title after the league decided to resume its season straight to the finals following the decision of other teams to pull out of the bubble.

The NBL was about to start its playoff rounds when games were suspended in mid-March due to the pandemic.

Six clubs are set to slug it out for the PFL title through five matchdays in a span of two weeks. The club with the most number of points will be declared champion.
