Alyssa Valdez showed why she’s still one of the best volleyball players in the country after copping the Most Valuable Player plum in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference on Saturday.
It was Valdez’s third MVP trophy in the PVL and sixth overall counting her previous feats in the Shakey’s V-League, owing to her 35.77 percent attack efficiency based from 93 spikes, 23 aces and four blocks.
Valdez, who plays for Creamline, also captured the Second Best Spiker award to join other individual winners BanKo-Perlas’ Nicole Tiamzon of BanKo-Perlas (First Best Open Spiker), Dzi Gervacio (Best Opposite Spiker) and Kathy Bersola (First Best Middle Blocker); PetroGazz’s Cherry Nunag (Second Best Middle Blocker); Creamline’s Jia Morado (Best Setter) and Pacifictown Army’s Angela Nunag (Best Libero).
Cuban Wilma Salas of PetroGazz won the Best Foreign Guest Player award.
Valdez and Creamline are currently playing PetroGazz for the crown with the Cool Smashers seeking to defend their title and sweep the best-of-three finals series.
