Tournaments overseas in the next couple of months will help toughen up the national ESports team to the 30th Southeast Asian Games later this year.

Although the final lineup won’t be released until the end of the week, two strong contenders appeared during the weekly PSA Forum at the Amelie Hotel on Tuesday, appraising the scribes about their preparation for the Nov. 30-Dec. 11 sportsfest.

Kevin ‘Gambit’ Dizon, captain of Team Liyab Arena of Valor, and Caviar ‘Enderr’ Acampado of Star Craft II, expressed optimism that they will make the country proud.

“We have played against them and we know how they play,” said Dizon.

Acampado, one of the country’s fastest rising players, insists that while their chosen sport looks like child’s play, representing the
country “gives me so much pride and joy.”

“I am proud t be carrying the flag of the Philippines,” said Acampado, who has traveled extensively around the Asian region taking part in
tournaments.

ESports dangles six gold medals and the events will be played at The Arena in San Juan.

Also appearing during the Q&A backed by San Miguel Corp. Braska Restaurant and Pagcor, includes ESports executive Gerard Sobrepena.
