Frankie Lim will return as the head coach of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) after being advised to take a leave following the Altas’ humiliating 56-102 defeat to defending champion San Beda University last Friday in Season 95 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) seniors basketball tournament.
The UPHSD management did not disclose the reason for Lim’s leave.
The Altas won 88-87 over Emilio Aguinaldo College on Tuesday.
During the game, the Altas displayed stickers with the initials CFL for “Coach Frankie Lim” and LIM on their shoes.
“UPHSD coach Frankie Lim is back with the Altas after missing the game against the EAC Generals last Tuesday, August 20, 2019 as he was on leave,” said Frank Gusi, UPHSD’s representative to the NCAA management committee, in a statement released to the media.
“We have to move on and focus on our campaign in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament,” added Gusi.
Lim, who towed UPHSD to the Final Four last season, will be back at the helm on Friday, August 23 when the Altas face San Sebastian College-Recoletos in their final game in the first round.
Perpetual Help is carrying a 3-5 record for a shared No. 6 with Mapua University and Jose Rizal University.
