Tarlac City Waves’ Joco Miguelle Delizo and Eastern Aquatic’s Diana Celyn Cruz spearheaded the Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) winners in Class A of the 164th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series – 1st Susan Papa Unity Cup held at the Diliman Preparatory School swimming pool in Quezon City.

Delizo earned 27 points to dominate the boys’ 15-over division while Cruz collected 18 points in winning the top honors in the girls’ 14-year category of the tournament supported by The Manila Times.

Veteran international campaigners Marc Bryan Dula of Masville National High School-Paranaque (boys’ 12-year) and Triza Haileyana Tabamo of Tarlac City Waves (girls’ 12-year) also sizzled in their respective age-bands.

Filipino-British siblings Hannah White (girls’ 6-under) and Ruben White (boys’ 14-year) as well as Sophia Rose Garra of Diliman Preparatory School (girls’ 7-year) and Jude Gapultos of Tarlac City Waves (boys’ 8-year) likewise reigned supreme in their divisions.

“We’re thankful for another successful edition of the PSL National Series. We will continue searching for talented young swimmers in the other parts of the country. We want to give them a chance to be part of the PSL Team that will be competing in international tournaments this year,” said PSL president Alexandre Papa.

The other MOS winners in the girls’ division were Sophia Venice Canonizado of Zambales Bluesharks (8), Suzanne Himor of TYR Philippines (15-over), Aquariors bets Benylde Urquico (11) and Manuelle Louise Perez (13), and Cainta Alpha Dragons tankers Maria Zabelle Eugenio (9) and Jada Corrine Cruz (10).

Winning MOS plums in the boys’ class were Matt Zyrus Ramirez of Umih (6-under), Kevin Bryle Chan of De La Salle-Araneta (9), James Rey Ajido of Eastern Aquatic (10), and Aquariors swimmers Red Reyes (11) and Sean Azores (13).

“Our main goal is to identify talents as early as possible for them to have a solid program in preparation for our international competitions. We will give them proper exposure to upgrade their standards,” added Papa.
