It appears Anthony Davis is going old school.
LeBron James was more than willing to give his cherished no. 23 to his new Lakers teammate Anthony Davis for his first season in Los Angeles. But it seems like the two will have to wait first.
According to Yahoo Sports, due to ‘production issues and massive financial hit’, Nike turned down the request to create no. 23 Davis jersey.
So, the Brow decided to just don his elementary school jersey number instead.
“Taking the number all the way back to elementary school!” the NBA star captioned on his Instagram post.
However, if LeBron is still willing to gift his beloved number to Davis, then he will be able to wear it in the 2020 season.
