The City of San Juan will be donating P2 million from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund of San Juan to the Provincial Risk Reduction Management Fund of Batangas, in the wake of the destruction caused by the eruption of Taal volcano.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, Chairman of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC), approved CDRRMC Resolution 001 – Series of 2020 in an emergency meeting on Tuesday.
Mayor Zamora also requested the City Council of San Juan headed by Vice Mayor Warren Villa to convene a special session to approve the CDRRMC resolution and expedite the transfer of funds.
“We in the City of San Juan feel the hardship being experienced by our kababayans in the affected areas,” said Mayor Zamora and added, “as fellow Filipinos, we would like to extend any help we could to alleviate their suffering.”
The CDRRMC through City Administrator Atty. Dennis Albert Pamintuan directed the City Health Officer, the Director of the San Juan Medical Center, the City Veterinarian, the City Engineer and the CDRRMO to coordinate with their counterparts in the Province of Batangas and the City of Tagaytay to assess additional help needed in terms of equipment and manpower.
