THE Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Debold Sinas, led the distribution of 500 Galil Ace 5.56mm basic assault rifles to the Central Luzon (CL) police force on Monday in an attempt to improve the capability of policemen in the performance of their duty.
Consequently, Sinas also inaugurated the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) quarantine facilities and new Public Information Office.
“I am happy that BGen. Valeriano de Leon has already complied with these quarantine facilities that would cater to the needs of our uniformed and non-uniformed personnel,” he said.
De Leon, PRO3 director, said the additional rifles would boost and capacitate the firepower of mobile force personnel to assure the safety of the public against criminal elements and terrorist groups.
“We converted container vans for this purpose. This is the immediate response of PRO3 to the call of the PNP chief to build quarantine and treatment facilities for police personnel with Covid-19. It is an area for isolation, recuperation and rest,” he added.
Each container van is divided into two air-conditioned rooms with partition according to the standards set by Department of Health with one hospital bed, a table, chair and own toilet.
Free Wi-Fi access is also provided.
A total of 44 quarantine facilities was established inside the PRO3 Headquarters in Camp Olivas in the City of San Fernando in Pampanga.
