Boni Tacardon, De Lima’s legal counsel, said the senator’s motion for furlough was granted by Judge Liezel Aquiatan of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 205 and Judge Amelia Fabros-Corpuz of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 256.

Aquiatan handles two drug cases filed against the senator by the Department of Justice.

De Lima’s son, Vincent Joshua Bohol, passed the Bar last month.

“We’d like to thank the judge for granting our application for a furlough to allow Senator De Lima to attend the Thanksgiving dinner of his son who just passed the Bar,” said Tacardon.

The Thanksgiving dinner is scheduled at Club Filipino on June 16 and De Lima can attend the event.

“(It’s from) 12 to 3 yata, parang ganun. It’s a limited time, pero lunch time and ano…more than sufficient time,” Tacardon added.

In May last year, Fabros-Corpuz denied De Lima’s request to attend his son’s graduation ceremony at San Beda College-Alabang in Muntinlupa. Last month, it was revealed that the judge filed for early retirement.
