Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has set a deadline for a barangay chairman to appear before him after a netizen accused the latter of hitting and threatening her brother with a gun.
Barangay Chairman Amado Soriano of Brgy. 790 Zone 86, who was the subject of the Manila mayor’s ultimatum, was ordered to appear before the city hall by Monday.
“I will give you until Monday. If you do not show yourself chairman, we will visit you instead,” Mayor Domagoso said in the vernacular during his weekly The Capital Report Facebook live program yesterday (Friday).
The Manila Mayor learned about the incident through a Facebook post of a Manila resident who is supposedly the sister of the victim. The complainant claimed Soriano allegedly hit her brother with a pipe and threatened the latter while allegedly armed with a gun.
At the time of the incident, the barangay official was supposedly with several companions.
Moreno said that he will not allow such incidents to happen in Manila’s streets.
