After five months, the Manila city government has completed the production of a million washable face masks for its residents.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso made the announcement during Monday’s flag-raising ceremony.
In June, the Manila city government hired over a hundred sewers and master cutters to sew up to a million washable face masks for residents amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The goal is to provide at least one face mask for each member of the 670,000 families in the city. They also aimed to provide jobs to workers displaced by the pandemic.
After hitting their initial target, the Manila mayor said they will produce additional 500,000 face masks for its residents.
