To help farmers during these trying times, the local government unit (LGU) of Makati City purchased fresh milk and fruits to be distributed to the residents of the city.
This was announced by the city government on their official Facebook page Wednesday night.
But because of the limited supply, the Makati LGU said the residents who will first message them their names, addresses, and telephone numbers at the My Makati Facebook page will be given the fresh milk and fruits.
“Just a reminder, there is limited supply so you better send us a personal message now!” the local government said.
The city government advised residents to eat nutritious foods, have a healthy lifestyle, and always practice proper hygiene.
It also reminded residents to stay at home during the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine to avoid contracting COVID-19.
The Makati City government is currently giving P2,000 in financial assistance to tricycle and jeepney drivers affected by the quarantine.
It is also still delivering food packs to over 80,000 Makati City elementary and high school students, and maintenance medicine to senior citizens in Makati.
Makati City was placed under a state of calamity on March 16, following the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in the city.
Binay also issued an executive order imposing a curfew in the city from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and ordering the closure of inessential establishments such as malls and bars.
