A Korean national was arrested by the police on Tuesday after allegedly transforming his rented condominium unit in Quezon City into a drug laboratory.
A report from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) showed that suspect identified as Jungkil Kim, alias “Joseph,” 57, was arrested for supposedly running a drug lab.
Kim, who police said was a chemist, was nabbed following the implementation of a search warrant by joint personnel of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Manila Police District, and QCPD’s Masambong Police Station (PS-2).
Authorities served the warrant to search Kim’s unit in a condominium building at the corner of Nueva Vizcaya and Misamis Streets in Barangay Sto. Cristo around 3 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving reports about illegal drug activities transpiring there.
During the raid, operatives were able to recover several laboratory instruments, chemicals, and drug paraphernalia inside the suspect’s rented unit.
Eleven plastic packs containing undetermined quantity of white crystal substance, suspected to be shabu, were also seized in the scene which resulted in Kim’s arrest.
The suspect is now under custody of the police and will be facing drug-related charges, while a follow-up investigation is underway.
