“Hindi naman yan maapektuhan yung kanyang kandidatura in the short term (It would not affect his candidacy in the short term),” Comelec spokesman James Jimenez told reporters.

Jimenez said the Comelec would also be looking into the incident in Quezon City.

“Ang pag-aresto sa kanya ay bahagi ng operation against the vote buying that was witnessed there (Crisologo was arrested in connection with the vote buying that was reported there),” he said.

Crisologo was arrested Sunday night by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) for obstruction of justice when he tried interfering in an operation in Barangay Bahay Toro which arrested those involved in vote buying.

The mayoral bet allegedly demanded the police to release those who were arrested who turned out to be his volunteers. #MatalinongBoto2019
