Voters in the National Capital Region who want to register take note.
The Commission on Elections will hold a satellite registration at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila on January 28 and 29 for Manila’s Districts 1 to 6.
On February 8, there will also be a satellite registration at Barangay Pulo 35 Center for the 1st District of Valenzuela City.
The poll body posted the initial list of barangays with satellite registration on their Facebook page Monday.
Based on COMELEC Resolution No. 10549, Offices of Election Officers shall conduct at least one mandatory satellite registration of voters within the city or municipality in order to maximize the registration turnout.
Venues for satellite registration may include barangay hall or center; public and private schools and universities; malls and commercial establishments; and other public and convenient places.
Earlier, Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez said OEOs are now required to announce the date and venue of the satellite registration three days before the actual conduct of the activity.
He said they even created a template of the “Notice to the Public” for this purpose.
Jimenez urged the public to look for the said announcements in the different OEOs when they go to register.
“We hope this will add to their convenience,” he said.
The voter registration period for the May 2022 polls started January 20 and will run until September 30, 2021.
