CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, City of Malolos, Bulacan: Three suspected drug pushers were killed while 21 others were arrested in a series of buy-bust operations conducted by the Philippine National Police in Bulacan since Tuesday.
Col. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan provincial police director, identified the fatalities as Mark Panganoron and Mark Anthony Mallares. They were killed in a drug operation in San Jose del Monte. Meanwhile, Allex Omilla was killed in an anti-drug operation in the town of Sta. Maria.
Lt. Col. Orlando Castil Jr., police chief of San Jose del Monte, said a shootout occurred when Panganoron and Mallares sensed that they were dealing with an undercover agent who were about to arrest them.
Recovered from them were 16 sachets of suspected “shabu,” two .38-caliber revolvers and the buy-bust money.
In Sta. Maria, police chief Lt. Col. Carl Omar Fiel said Omilla fired at the police when he sensed that he was dealing with an undercover agent. The police officers fired back, killing him.
Recovered from Omilla were 12 sachets of shabu and one .45 caliber pistol.
Bersaluna said 21 drug suspects were arrested during the buy-bust operations conducted in Meycauayan, Balagtas, San Rafael, San Jose del Monte, Santa Maria, Marilao, Bulakan and Baliwag.
Seized from the suspects were 52 sachets of shabu and buy-bust money.
