Netflix Philippines recently released the official trailer for the upcoming Korean romantic drama It’s Okay Not to Be Okay (사이코지만 괜찮아 in Hanggul). Here are a few things you might want to know about this upcoming series.
Park Shin-Woo is the director of the series. Park previously directed the 2018 series Encounter, starring Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo. Award winning actor Kim Soo-Hyun, who gained popularity in the Philippines as the alien Do Min-Jung in the series My Love from the Star (2014), will take on the lead role of Moon Gang-tae. He’s paired with Seo Ye-Ji, who plays the role of Go Moon-Young. Seo was Princess Sook-Myung in the period drama Hwarang (2016) and she played Ha Jae-Yi in the legal thriller series Lawless Lawyer (2018).
The title’s literal translation is “I’m a psycho, but it’s okay,” so I guess we can expect that this drama to be filled with twists and turns that should stir everyone’s emotions.
It’s Okay Not to Be Okay is about an unusual romance between two people who end up healing each other’s emotional and psychological wounds. Moon Ga-tae is an orphaned caretaker working at a psychiatric ward who does not believe in love, while Go Moon-Young is a popular children’s book author who suffers from an antisocial personality disorder and knows nothing about love.
Catch the premier of this series on Netflix on June 20, the same day it will air on tvN in Korea. Hwaiting!
