Parties and other social gatherings are part and parcel of everyone’s existence, particularly in this day and age. What we used to call meetings, conferences, reunions, weddings, and birthday parties are now collectively known as events. And where these used to be held at homes, village/ condo clubhouses, auditoriums, and other rented spaces, the trend today is to use events places that are conveniently located, have adequate parking, and provide all the modern amenities such as projectors, sound systems, professional lighting, computers, video cameras, and video walls.

But even after securing an events place, a host still has to wrestle with the most important aspect of any Filipino party—the food. Caterers provide tables, chairs, décor, plates, silverware, glasses, napkins, table cloths, and food according to a menu approved by the host. The standard menu offered by caterers includes meat, seafood, a vegetable side dish, a cream soup, an everyday green salad, and a dessert, all ordinary dishes that leave much to be desired by way of presentation and visual appeal.

That’s all changing now, with the unprecedented collaboration of 11 top caterers, 11 celebrity chefs, and The Blue Leaf, Manila’s premiere events venue. We attended a preview of what they have to offer.Together with Our Awesome Planet, they cooked up a three-part culinary event entitled “Who’s Cooking?” They brought together Manila’s most sought-after chefs and The Blue Leaf partner caterers for a first-of-its-kind collaboration to produce a mouth-watering five-course menu exclusively available for events held at The Blue Leaf.

“We, at The Blue Leaf, have so much appreciation for delicious food. Food is at the center of some of life’s best moments. Food ties us all together, especially when it’s exquisitely made by our country’s very own top chefs and caterers,” Eugene Sandejas, managing director of The Blue Leaf said. “‘Who’s Cooking?’ encourages a cross-industry collaboration between the chefs and caterers, not placing restrictions to a certain cuisine or theme.”

“Who’s Cooking?” yielded unexpected and exciting results, all showcased at the Grand Reveal Party, which was a feast for both the eyes and the palate! Top caliber collaborators were:

The menus of all 11 collaborations will be served exclusively at events held at The Blue Leaf Events Spaces at McKinley Hill Village, Aseana City, and Quezon City, so expect an even more remarkable experience at the next special event at the country’s premier events venue.
