A few months after it was announced that Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) will be a separate entity from Binibining Pilipinas, the organization has now revealed the schedule of this year’s most awaited pageant.
On a press statement, the new Miss Universe Philippines announced that the coronation and awards night will be on May 3, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
“The submission of applications is until Jan. 31. The final screening is on Feb. 1, and coronation night is on May 3, at the SM Arena, Pasay City,” the organization says.
More than a brand
As a separate entity, the new Miss Universe Philippines aims to encourage Filipina women to become empowered individuals, who also embody the mission of being agents of meaningful change wherever they are. It trains participants to become role models, pursuing personal and professional goals, while also leaving and inspiring positive impact in society.
To fulfill this, the organization gathered respected individuals in the field of pageantry to run the institution. Shamcey Supsup Lee, a former Miss Universe Philippines, isthe national director. She’s in charge of organizational management and sets the direction for or objectives of MUPH.
She is joined by the queen maker, Jonas Antonio Gaffud, who is the creative director, designing the total pageant experience. Lia Ramos is the head of women empowerment and charity, making sure all charity initiatives are aligned with the overall vision of the organization. Albert Andrada is the design council head, ensuring that all items related to fashion in the pageant represent the best of Filipino creativity and are world-class quality.
Atty. Nad Bronce is the head of legal affairs and oversees that all contestants and activities of MUPH are above board. Mario Garcia is the head of business development &marketing. He creates marketing plans and strategies to promote the pageant and its initiatives while pursuing meaningful partnerships with brands that share the values of MUPH.
