Former Star Magic talent and Net 25 newscaster Eduard Bañez recently bared his plans to bring “Chandelier” hitmaker Sia, as well as R and B, pop, hip hop and soul artist Cassie Ventura to the Philippines.
Eduard, who is now based in Los Angeles, California, expresses his desire to return to Manila and bring foreign acts to perform here.
Asked why he wants to bring Sia to the Philippines, Eduard simply said, “Sia is undoubtedly very popular worldwide. She has millions of fans everywhere.”
Eduard is also working on getting Cassie. She worked with Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber in the music video, “I Don’t Care.”
“I want to put up a foundation, hopefully from the funds that Sia or Cassie’s concerts will generate,” Eduard said. “I want to help out the poor people. I also want to build an orphanage for the children in the Philippines.”
Eduard was merely 17 years old when he joined Star Magic Batch 15, launched in 2006. Among his batchmates were Jessie Mendiola, Bella Padilla and Megan Young.
Eduard later became a TV host and news anchor at Eagle Broadcasting Corporation. He also co-anchored with Arnel Ignacio a tele-radio show at Radyo Singko 92.3 News FM.
Moreover, Eduard hosted MTV Asia and even mentored singers who charted Billboard hits.
He briefly worked as a model and even donned Louis Vuitton creations and paraded the walkway for Vogue Philippines.
Then, Eduard worked as coach of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP).
Eduard said he is already negotiating with an airline company that will bring the artists to Manila. He is keeping the faith that his concert production will materialize.
“I want my plans to push through and become successful, so I can help more people,” Eduard says.
Eduard also got busy with singing engagements, not just in the US but even in other countries. He also wants to establish a singing career here in Manila.
“I have many plans,” Eduard disclosed. “Eventually, when I return to Manila, I pray that all my plans will work out. There’s so much to do and everything always makes me always hopeful.”
