Those eager to groove to “Tala” can now do it with higher purpose.
The viral dance craze will serve as an instrument for a charity drive in aid of the victims of the recent eruption of Taal Volcano. The event is organized by a fan group of pop star Sarah Geronimo.
Dubbed “Tala para sa Taal,” the flash mob will be held on Jan. 18 at Rizal Park in Manila.
The announcement went viral as soon as it was posted on Facebook.
The registration fee of P100 per head will be donated to Philippine Red Cross, organizer Barrie Juanico, who runs the Popsters Official page on Facebook.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised the alert status of Taal Volcano to level 4 on Sunday, following active volcano’s steam-driven explosion.
It spewed ashes and thick smoke, forcing the evacuation of thousands of residents from towns endangered.
