The Safe Davao QR registration site for individuals was activated yesterday amid the news that the city once again got the highest number of new Covid-19 positive cases in the country. As of last night, Davao City residents reported multiple errors coming from the site when they attempted to register. As users once again come in droves to register, the official FB page of the Davao City government was inundated with comments from users. The majority of the more than eight thousand comments are reporting errors of the site.
With almost 200 barangays, the system seems to freeze every time new registrants look for their barangay on the space provided. OTP or one-time password “that never arrived” is another error users encounter when registering. With a population of more than 1.8 million, the first attempt of the city to activated the online registration site was accessed by more than 10 thousand users simultaneously, making the site unusable due to web traffic congestion.
The city government of Davao official FB page said that DQR Helpline is available from Monday to Sunday, 7am to 8pm. Here are the numbers you can call if you have problems with the registration:
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte issued an executive order mandating the use of the DQR system to speed-up contact tracing in the city. The deadline for the DQR enforcement is on November 23 where people outside their residents would be apprehended if they fail to show the personal DQR code. Also on November 23, establishments, where possible close contact could take place, will be required to use the DQR system. A few days ago the registration site for establishments was activated.
