Ricky Reyes is happy that since the young magnate Hans Sy came into the fold of Child Haus, a temporay shelter for children with cancer, his good deeds have created a ripple effect.
Recently, an anonymous Good Samaritan deposited Php. 100,000 to ChildHaus after reading an article about them last Dec. 24.
Ricky said Hans making time for the children inspires so many people.
“Hans would sometimes cut short his trip and move appointments just to join in some important occasion at Child Haus. He would always come to Child Haus with his wife Carol and their children. Last Christmas, they threw a party at Child Haus,” Ricky said in a statement sent to Bulletin Entertainment.
Many times, too, Hans would tag along friends from his business circle and personally show them around the center.
“He even brought with him the NU Basketball Team one time, to give cheer to the children,” Ricky continued. “And always, at his request, the children would always be Hans’ personal guests in entertainment events in SM malls and at SM Arena, like in the previous visit of NBA superstar LeBron James.”
Last year, Hans even saw to it that the mothers of the children would be more productive while caring for their children. A livelihood program was prepared for them to augment their families’ income.
With Ricky at the helm, the parents and caregivers at Child Haus collaborated with bag makers to help in accessorizing export-quality bags. Seeing their efforts, Hans provided space at SM North Edsa for the products to be sold.
Hans was recently cited by Forbes magazine as one of the “Heroes Philantrophy” for the year 2019.
“He is happy with the citation but I think what he considers his big reward is seeing the happy faces of the children of Child Haus and their grateful parents,” Ricky said.
