“Bayanihan Musikahan” has gathered ₱14,718,733.26 cash donation as of last night, said the organizers.
Initiated by Ryan Cayabyab, the campaign aims to bring the nation together in the spirit of bayanihan by gathering Pinoy musical artists online through marathon singing. Last week, some of the performers were Martin Nievera, Morissette Amon, Ice Seguerra, Gloc-9, Lara Maigue, Jim Paredes, Bullet Dumas, Nyoy Volante, Ebe Dancel, Sponge Cola, and Karylle.
For today, March 26, the lineup includes Johnoy Danao at 6 p. m. and Tim Pavino at 7.
An hour later, Jett Pangan will go live with his equally talented son, Rafi.
Juris caps off the online fund-raising event at 9.
“Music to lift our spirit. Music to bring us all together. Music to direct our bayanihan spirit towards those in most need. Every performance is free to watch!” read in part of a message posted on the organizer’s Facebook page.
Meanwhile, Kapuso star David Licauco also extends a helping hand to those affected by the pandemic.
He wrote on Twitter about raising funds for donation to Makati Med or whichever hospital of the givers’ choice.
“We already have 120,000 thousand pesos worth of specialized imported PPEs. If you are willling to donate through BDO online, please let me know. You may contact: 09175191992,” he wrote.
In a separate tweet, he added that he’s still finalising with their import company about the Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) coming from China.
“Hopefully, we can get access to the items soon. I will personally let you know the situation and if it will unfortunately, take more time. Thank you for your patience and to those who reached out, thank you!”
