Almost half a million worth of shabu were seized by policemen from a suspected drug supplier who reportedly delivered illegal drugs in Marikina City for the first time on Tuesday night (September 23).
Marikina Police identified the suspect as Mellowie “Bossing” Cruz, 28, of San Marcos, Bulacan.
According to report, at around 10 p.m., the alleged drug supplier transacted with a police asset in front of Bubbles Car Wash in Barangay Marikina Heights.
Cruz arrived at their meeting place aboard a Toyota Avanza, with plate number DAD- 4711.
Right after the exchange of the marked money and illegal drugs, a team of policemen led by Marikina Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) Capt. Fernildo De Castro went out and apprehended Cruz.
Seized from him were 17 plastic sachets (60 grams) believed to be containing shabu, with a street value of around P408, 000.
Also retrieved from him was a loaded .9 mm pistol, police said.
Prior to his arrest, the suspect reportedly had a Facebook Messenger video chat with the police asset to show him his supply of illegal drugs.
Clueless that he was transacting with a police asset, Cruz then offered to personally deliver the shabu to him in Marikina.
Initially, the suspect wanted to meet in Manila. But the police asset was able to convince him to deliver it to Marikina City.
De Castro said Cruz is currently residing in the City of Manila that was why he was insisting to transact there.
Cruz is reportedly a known drug supplier in Metro Manila.
“According to him, it was his first time to deliver drugs here,” said De Castro.
