Netflix announced that it is planning to remake Roald Dahl’s classics into films and series.
The agreement says the streaming giant plans to recreate:
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- The BFG
- The Twits
- Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator
- George’s Marvellous Medicine
- Boy — Tales of Childhood
- Going Solo
- The Enormous Crocodile
- The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me
- Henry Sugar
- Billy and the Minpins
- The Magic Finger
- Esio Trot
- Dirty Beasts
- Rhyme Stew
Netflix earlier announced that is turning Dahl’s “Matilda” into a movie based on the musical adaptation.
“Our mission, which is purposefully lofty, is for as many children as possible around the world to experience the unique magic and positive message of Roald Dahl’s stories,” Felicity Dahl, Roald’s widow, was quoted in a report by The Tab.
Sony Pictures and Netflix are partnering on a film adaptation that will be shown in cinemas across the UK and then will be available to stream on Netflix worldwide shortly after.
