About 120 families in three barangays in Muntinlupa were evacuated by local authorities due to typhoon “Quinta.”
Erwin Alfonso, head of the Muntinlupa Department of Disaster Resilience and Management (DDRM) said 68 families in Bgy. Poblacion, 46 in Bgy. Buli, and six in Bgy. Bayanan were evacuated. They are now staying at a multi-purpose hall and two covered courts, and provided with food and non-food assistance by the city government.
As of 8 a.m. of Oct. 26, Alfonso identified five areas in Muntinlupa that are flooded: Levis Compound in Tunasan; Espeleta Pantalan, Rizal St-Aplaya and Quezon-Aplaya in Poblacion; and Aplaya area in Buli.
The DDRM said they are monitoring nine barangays in the city.
Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi suspended classes in all levels in public and private schools in the city Monday, October 26 after Metro Manila was placed under storm Signal #2.
“Suspension covers both online, modular and other modalities which may be affected by poor internet connectivity, possible power interruption and safety of the teachers/students collecting/submitting modules,” according to the city government.
