The Manila city government offered free chest X-ray services to public market vendors and tricycle drivers at Pritil Market in Tondo and Baseco Covered Court in Port Area Tuesday, October 6.
The Manila Health Department (MHD) provided the services in conjunction with the city government’s free mass swab testing operations.
The MHD partnered with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the said project.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the free chest x-rays was to ensure the safety of the city’s workers, not only from the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), but also from other illnesses.
“Nawa’y kahit papaano ay makapag bigay kami ng kapanatagan sa inyo, sa inyong mga pamilya at sa ating mga mamimili rito sa Lungsod ng Maynila (We hope that we can give you, your family, and the consumers in the city of Manila some assurance),” he said.
