A Korean actress and former member of a K-pop girl group was killed when she was struck by two vehicles along an expressway in Gimpo.
Police identified the victim as Han Ji-sung, 28, who debuted as a member of girl group B.Dolls in 2010 and ventured into acting.
The accident occurred at about 3:52 a. m. on May 6 along the Incheon International Airport Expressway in South Korea but was reported in the Korean media on May 8.
Reports stated that Han Ji-sung stopped her car in the middle of the expressway because her husband needed to urinate.
A black box video from a passing vehicle obtained by Korean TV news outlet YTN showed that Han Ji-sung’s car was parked on the middle lane of the expressway with its hazard lights on.
It showed a person crossing the expressway and jumping over the guardrail while Han Ji-sung was bending over at the back of her car before the accident occurred. She died from injuries.
Han Ji-sung’s husband told the police he didn’t know why she parked the car in the middle of the expressway. Police are investigating the circumstances of her death and will ask the National Institute of Scientific Investigation for an autopsy.
Han Ji-sung got married in March and as an actress, she appeared in dramas such as “Second to Last Love” and “Happy Sisters,” and films “Moonlit Gymnastics 2015,” “SORI: Voice from the Heart” and “One Punch,” which was released last month.
