The parcels were found at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City.

Records show that the first parcel was sent by a certain “Tan” from California, USA, and was misdeclared as “cosmetic beauty cream.”

The second parcel was sent by a certain “Travis Arvin” from Oregon, USA, and was misdeclared as “video.”

The BOC-NAIA frontliners inspected the parcels and found 21 pieces of vape cartridges.

The PDEA chemical laboratory later revealed that the seized vape cartridges contained tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, one of the chemical compounds found in marijuana.

The importation of marijuana and its compounds, components and derivatives is strictly prohibited under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

BOC-NAIA formally turned over the seized illegal drugs to PDEA on October 9 for proper filing of a case against the importers and responsible persons .
