Beau Belga scored five points in overtime as Rain or Shine grinded out an 85-82 victory over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel to gain solo second Tuesday night in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.
Motivated by a criticism he saw on social media, Belga came through for the Elasto Painters in the extension with a follow-up and a three-pointer that put the Elasto Painters up 83-78 with under two minutes left.
Rain or Shine also needed a lucky break in the end after Rey Nambatac, who sent the game into overtime with a three-pointer late in regulation, slipped but had the presence of mind to pass the ball as Jewel Ponferada scored a runner to secure the final count and a fourth win in five games inside the bubble known as Smart Clark Giga City.
Ginebra absorbed its second straight setback after a 4-0 start.
