The Binibining Pilipinas 2019 titleholders have defended Catriona Gray from a “fat” comment courtesy of Thai beauty queen aspirant.
Miss Grand Nakhon Phanom 2019 Coco Arayha Suparurk has been criticized by netizens following her supposed body-shaming remark against Catriona, Miss Universe 2018.
On Instagram, she posted a photo of the Filipina next to Miss Grand International 2018 Clara Sosa.
Catriona has not issued a statement on the matter as of press time, but her Bb. Pilipinas sisters came to her defense.
Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados is confident Catriona won’t be affected by the comment.
“There will always be people who will try to judge you from the outside but what they say won’t matter for as long as you feel good for yourself. And Cat knows who she is so I’m pretty much confident she was not hurt about it,” she said.
Bb. Pilipinas International 2019 Patricia Magtanong added: “I think she has been facing this type of criticism ever since Bb. Pilipinas and yet she rose above it. She proved to everybody that it’s not about how much you weigh, it’s not about how you look and she won Miss Universe.”
Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2019 Resham Saeed believes body-shaming should not be accepted in the society.
“I don’t think that we’re in this day and age that were going to judge and shame women for what they look like. Let’s judge them by the work they produce,” she said.
